Fasting For Weight Loss

Fasting for religion? Yes. Fasting for reasons of belief and principle? Yes.

Fasting for weight loss? - Now that's a question...

Personally I don't believe it is the correct answer. Starving your body is not the way to lose weight. Your body is smart. It will simply adjust your internal metabolism and body workings and slow them down so you burn less.

So what is the answer then?

Well the answer lies in the fact that we all have control over our diets and our lifestyle.

Fasting works. Don't get me wrong. Short term, it is THE answer on how to lose weight. But don't expect to keep it off. Like I said - your body will simply change the pace at which it works.

The only way I have found to truly and effectively lose weight both long and short term, is by a controlled diet.

Most diets simply promote a specific eating plan. I believe exercise is the greatest gift when it comes to weight loss. If you get yourself a skipping rope, and start by just doing 5 minutes every day, you will have already made a start. If you don't have a rope, then you could just jog on the spot for 5 minutes. There are no excuses for not getting started.

It takes a bit of work to start with, but after you get used to it, the results are remarkable.

First - start off by not aiming to lose weight, but instead aim to control your diet. This is a much better thing to aim for. And don't expect to lose it all within a day. Think about it like this, if you lose one pound a day. After a week how much have you lost?

Now think back to this time last week - if you had started back then, you could be 7 pounds lighter by now! So don't delay in starting now. Don't put it off until tomorrow...You will never get around to it... And that's a fact.

Now is the time to start.
